School Psychologist Calls
for End to War Against Bullies
Revolutionary program demonstrated in California school district
NEW YORK – December 17, 2001 – While the world is busy trying to eliminate bullies from our schools, Nationally Certified School Psychologist Izzy Kalman is busy trying to eliminate victims.
"The anti-bully movement has it all backwards. It’s the victims who are dangerous to themselves and to others," said Kalman. "It’s not the school bullies who are going on shooting rampages, who are angry, depressed, and suicidal. It’s the victims. Every war has casualties on both sides. If we want to have safe and happy schools, we need to end the war against bullies, and instead, teach our kids how not to be victims."
Kalman, a New York City school psychologist, has developed a program called "From Bullies to Buddies." It teaches kids how to turn their bullies into buddies without anyone’s help and without getting anyone in trouble.
"The program will victim-proof schools!" said Kalman. As an extra bonus, kids learn how to achieve peace with their brothers and sisters at home, where fighting is far more common."
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WORK?
"The strategies in Bullies to Buddies turns students into winners almost immediately," said Jane Steinkamp, principal of Jefferson School District in Tracy, Calif., which in November became the first school district in the country to implement this program. "Izzy Kalman has allowed our classroom teachers to get back to the business of teaching and has eliminated the need for them to be constant conflict managers."
Students will learn how to:
- Turn their bullies into buddies
- Stop rumors dead in their tracks
- End the fighting with siblings at home
- Get respect and admiration from their parents
- Control their anger
- Reduce punishments from parents
Teachers will learn how to:
- Understand children’s aggression in a way that is true to human nature
- Use "magic responses" that effortlessly eliminate conflicts
Parents will learn how to:
- Understand how they unwittingly cause sibling rivalry
- Empower their kids to solve their own problems and become best friends

- Use Izzy Kalman’s copyrighted technique for treating victimized kids
